Damp Free dehumidifiers are used in wardrobes and closets where humidity is high. When humidity is high most of the time, clothes, video tapes, books, photographic albums etc get damaged by the excess moisture. Damp Free is an economical way to prevent such problems.
2.
How do they work?Damp Free keeps things dry and fresh by warming, circulating and drying out the moist air within cabinets, cupboards and closets. The warmth they create causes air to dry and circulate by convection and with the increased pressure caused by a change in temperature, stale moist air gets pushed out of the cupboards. Fresh air then rushes in to replace and thus there is constant air change.
3.
How are they installed? Do I need special skills or equipment? No, they are simple to install and all that is needed in most cases is a screwdriver. Damp Free comes complete with 10 feet of electrical cord attached, screws and mounting clips. They are normally placed at the lowest section of the cupboard, either on the base or backboard. They can even be mounted on the bottom of the lowest shelf if desired. The idea is to keep the rod at the lowest portion of the cupboard so that maximum effectiveness is achieved. The rod should be installed horizontally for best results.
4.
How do I know if they are working?Several minutes after a Damp Free rod is plug into a suitable power point, it should feel warm. It should remain warm and the rod should be left switched on.
5.
Since the dehumidifier rod is left powered on all the time, will it last?Yes, Damp Free dehumidifiers are very lasting. They are so well made and robust, we now give 10 years’ warranty on them. If ever a unit is faulty during this period, we will repair or replace it free of charge.
